Tuxedo Polaris 17 Gen1

While I almost had a nervous meltdown in the beginning with this device, it now runs most of my rendering tasks (headless because I removed the screen after I broke it).

I haven’t found a way to change some things within the BIOS/UEFI because I don’t have a working screen setup to catch the boot sequence – any hints on that are well appreciated.

I was running a few virtual machines on this devices without much problems, the Ryzen 7 is a real powerhorse and paired with 64GB of RAM it was nearly unstoppable.

Well, the graphics card is a bit outdated as of today in December 2025 but hey, the rendering of videos (converting to H264, adding audio streams, extracting and converting streams, …) still works fine.

I also played some video games on this machine – it worked okay’isch on recent games like FarCry 5 and 6 or Way of the Hunter. It struggled with Assassins Creed: Valhalla (unplayable, even on low settings).
